Position Overview:
The Communications team at TAF works to strengthen internal and external communications and build strategic partnerships to deliver results at scale. The team delivers communication campaigns that support our diverse priorities, showcase our stories of change, engage media, leverage digital and multimedia for enhanced outreach engagement and support internal communication. TAF is looking for a committed, creative and entrepreneurial individual with over 4 years of experience in marketing and communications to join as a Senior Communication Associate in our New Delhi office.
 
The role requires strong communications skills, strategic and original creative thinking, expertise in social media management and leadership in content development. The Senior Associate, Communications will be responsible for leading content development and social media management, deliver overall communication support for districts and will also be responsible for supporting teammates in editing, designing and implementing program specific campaigns and working on audio/visual products. He or she will also play a key role in managing inter-vertical collaborations and generating overall high-quality written and audio-visual content.
 
Responsibilities:

The Senior Associate, Communications will support the team in developing key and original communication assets and strategic planning efforts and work with the program teams to develop and disseminate a range of materials/products. They will lead development and implementation of digital communication strategies to promote the organization's work and engage with various audiences. This role involves managing social media, websites, and other digital platforms, creating content, analyzing data, and coordinating with various teams. They also play a key role in building relationships with stakeholders and ensuring consistent messaging across all digital channels. 
 
 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
 
  • Developing and implementing digital communication strategies: This includes creating plans for social media, website content, email marketing, and other digital channels. 
  • Managing social media presence: This involves creating and curating content, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to comments and messages. 
  • Maintaining and updating websites: Ensuring website content is accurate, up-to-date, and user-friendly, often using content management systems (CMS). 
  • Creating digital content: Producing various types of content, such as text, images, videos, and infographics, for different digital platforms. 
  • Analysing digital metrics: Tracking and analysing website traffic, social media engagement, and other relevant data to assess the effectiveness of digital campaigns and inform future strategies. 
  • Collaborating with other teams: Working closely with program teams, fundraising teams, and other communication specialists to ensure consistent messaging and campaign alignment. 
  • Staying up-to-date on digital trends: Continuously learning about new technologies and best practices in digital communication to improve the organization's online presence. 
  • Providing training and support: Training staff on digital communication tools and best practices, and providing support for digital initiatives. 
 
 
Skills and Qualifications:
 
  • Education: A bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field. 
  • Experience: Over 4 years of experience in digital communication, preferably in a development or humanitarian context. 
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in social media management, website content management systems, digital marketing, and analytics tools. 
  • Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication style to different audiences. 
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to analyse data and identify trends to inform digital strategies. 
  • Project Management Skills: Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively. 
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and stakeholders. 
  • Languages: Fluency in English is essential, and proficiency in other languages relevant to the UN's work may be required. 
 
District Level Support will include: (40%)
 
  • Delivery of creative ideas and assets in consultation with the DL
  • Active involvement in program delivery
  • Active liasoning with local media partners and creative agencies
  • Undertaking frequent field visits to districts to understand the program interventions, field test communication materials, and capture relevant content etc. 
 
 
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
 
  • Post Graduate in communications or other relevant field with over 4 years experience in communications-related streams, including social media management, content development, writing, filmmaking, photography, design, story-telling, and social media.
