The Antara Foundation (TAF) envisions a world where every mother and each child deserve an equal start to a healthy life. We support the public health system deliver solutions at scale, by partnering with government and communities to improve maternal and child health outcomes. Interventions of The Antara Foundation follow two closely integrated paths: to help the government system deliver better quality health care to the community and to support the community to mobilize and seek better health outcomes.
We are a young, energetic, and passionate team, working across 9 districts, 38 blocks, 5,700 villages, with 20,000 FLWs, and reaching 379,000 women and 650,000 children in central India. We are looking for
- Program officers who are passionate, bubbling over with ideas, strategic in approach, hard-nosed with data and enthusiastic to learn.
- We seek someone with 2-5 years of work experience in other development organizations, corporate organizations, or management consulting. This person should be adept in handling large volumes of data, managing diverse stakeholders and leading initiatives on their own.
- Will be responsible for running our program end-to-end in 1 block (covering 150-200 villages, pop: >1.5 lakhs). S/he will be the leader of their area and expected to work under the principle of ‘freedom with responsibility’. Locations
We accept rolling applications and candidates may be placed at any one of our intervention districts in Madhya Pradesh based on the requirement (Seoni, Damoh, Barwani, Khargone, Chhindwara, Betul, Morena).
Role specifics
As a Program Officer, your role will include (but not limited to) the following-
- Plan and implement our interventions end-to-end in an integrated manner at the block level.
- Independently plan activities, trouble-shoot issues and conduct extensive field visits on daily basis to different areas of the block; monitor the program routinely
- Continuously ideate and analyse data to improve program delivery and introduce new initiatives
- Maintain strong relationships and work closely with village/block/district government officials to ensure quality delivery and sustainability of the program
- Develop trust and bonds with frontline workers and community to ensure quality delivery and sustainability of the program
- Contribute to overall organizational needs and vision outside the field and collaborate with team members from different locations/departments
Skills:
- 2-3 years experience of working at the grassroots with FLWs and community
- Strategic and analytical thinking
- Data based, problem solving approach
- Clear written and oral communication in Hindi & English
- Open to learning
